Job Description

Job Summary:

The Solar PV Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving the growth and development of a solar photovoltaic (PV) business. This includes identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships, and managing sales teams. The Business Development Manager will work with internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project execution. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the solar PV industry, including new markets and product lines 
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and industry stakeholders 
  • Manage the sales pipeline, including lead generation, client engagement, and proposal development 
  • Work with engineers and project managers to develop project plans, budgets, and timelines 
  • Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards 
  • Monitor the financial performance of the business, including revenue, expenses, and profit margins 
  • Keep up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and standards and provide guidance to internal stakeholders 
  • Manage and lead a team of sales professionals to achieve business goals. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field 
  • 7+ years of experience in the solar PV industry, with a focus on business development and sales 
  • Strong understanding of solar PV technology, market trends, and regulatory landscape 
  • Proven track record in sales and business development, with a focus on developing and maintaining client relationships 
  • Experience managing sales teams and achieving sales targets 
  • Strong analytical and financial management skills 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively work with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Ability to manage and motivate a sales team to achieve business goals. 

Working Conditions:

The Business Development Manager will work primarily in an office environment, with some travel to project sites and client meetings. The role requires frequent communication with internal and external stakeholders. The role may require occasional evening or weekend work to meet business goals.
