Technical Manager (High Voltage)

Job Description

Job Summary:

 The Technical Manager with a focus on High Voltage, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage high voltage aspects of projects. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of high-voltage equipment and systems associated with projects. Your role will involve coordinating with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality projects in compliance with industry standards and regulations. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Project Management: Lead and manage high voltage aspects of solar PV projects from inception to completion. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets while ensuring compliance with technical requirements and safety standards. 
  • High Voltage System Design and Integration: Oversee the design and integration of high voltage systems within solar PV projects. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure optimal system performance, reliability, and efficiency. 
  • Compliance with Codes and Standards: Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and regulations pertaining to high voltage systems. Stay updated with evolving codes and standards in the renewable energy industry. 
  • Equipment Procurement and Vendor Management: Identify, select, and procure high voltage equipment necessary for solar PV projects. Manage relationships with equipment vendors, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. 
  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and review technical documents, including system design specifications, equipment specifications, electrical diagrams, and safety procedures related to high voltage systems. Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation for reference and future maintenance. 
  • Quality Assurance and Control: Implement quality assurance and control measures to ensure that high voltage systems are installed, tested, and commissioned according to established standards and specifications. 
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments of high voltage systems, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies. Ensure a safe working environment for personnel involved in high voltage activities. 
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with internal project teams, 
  • contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration, timely project execution, and successful project delivery. 
  • Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor the performance of high voltage systems, identifying and resolving technical issues and inefficiencies. Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance to ensure optimal system operation. 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, especially in high-voltage systems. 
  • Proficiency in electrical design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar programs. 
  • Experience with the design, installation, and maintenance of high-voltage electrical systems. 
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards. 
  • Ability to perform electrical calculations and analysis using software tools. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex electrical issues. 
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work in cross-functional teams. 
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. 

Working Conditions:

A combination of fieldwork and office-based tasks. Fieldwork may involve visiting solar PV project sites to oversee high-voltage system installations, conduct inspections, and address technical issues. Office work will involve tasks such as project planning, system design, documentation, and coordination with stakeholders.
