Our founding partners are energy sector veterans, and the leadership team has over 75 years combined international energy infrastructure investment and development experience. They are supported by a local team with expertise in key segments of the asset lifecycle, providing extensive local-market knowledge and relationships with on-the-ground developers, suppliers, and service providers. Together, we strive to identify the best investment opportunities available to deliver long-term value to our investors and stakeholders.

Patrick Jaeger

Managing Partner and Founder

Patrick is a seasoned leader in the clean energy sector where he has been involved in over 5,000 MW of onshore & offshore wind, solar PV and hydroelectric power projects across numerous markets in Asia-Pacific and Europe.

Patrick began his career with Citigroup’s energy and transport infrastructure investment banking division in London, where he was instrumental in many of the firm’s landmark emerging market transactions.

Before founding Mercury Energy Partners, Patrick oversaw the investment and development activities for the Asian solar PV and energy storage platform of Macquarie’s Green Investment Group, establishing the firm’s regional presence by building out the investment activities, teams, and project portfolios across various markets, including Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand among others.

Stanley Liu

Managing Partner and Co-Founder

Stanley is an accomplished energy project developer, investor, commercial/financial manager, and financial adviser with over 30 years of experience and a proven track record. He has been involved in a wide range of energy projects, including conventional power plants, CCTG, coal-fired and waste-to-energy, totaling over 900 MW, as well as rooftop and large-scale ground mount solar PV projects totaling close to 700 MW.

Stanley has raised approximately USD 1 billion in project finance and corporate loans, as well as financing for a luxury five-star hotel project in central Taipei. He also co-founded a USD 400 million private equity fund in 2014.

Stanley began his career with Lehman Brothers’ investment banking division, where he advised on the BOT scheme for the USD 17 billion Taiwan High Speed Rail project. He was later retained by Eurotrain, a joint venture between GEC Alstom and Siemens, to form a team and was awarded the BOT concession for the project from 1993 to 1997. In 1995, he advised on the privatization of the Taiwan Power Company, the state-owned exclusive electric utility.

Wei Kiong TOH

Investment Director

Wei Kiong has over 15 years of experience in structuring and managing private equity investments, with a strong focus on energy and maritime infrastructure investments, including oil and gas infrastructure, floating production, supply and offloading vessels, drill ships and offshore wind turbine installation vessels. As Investment Director, he has overall responsibility for the day-to-day investment and financing activities.

Prior to joining Mercury Energy Partners, Wei Kiong served as Investment Director at Collyer Capital in Singapore where he managed the investment team and day-to-day operations of a fund manager for which he played an integral role in the licensing and establishment process from the ground up. Wei Kiong began his career at Phillip Private Equity in Singapore.

Raised and educated in Singapore, Wei Kiong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Finance (Distinction) from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. He speaks both native Mandarin Chinese and English and is conversational in Taiwanese Hokkien.

Taylor Lin

Legal Counsel

Taylor is a legal professional with extensive experience in the solar energy industry. He manages all legal topics in relation to acquisition, financing, permitting, development and construction matters. Taylor has been involved in over 300 MWp of solar PV projects and related project financing arrangements for TWD 15 billion.

Prior to joining Mercury Energy Partners, Taylor served as the legal manager for Chenya Energy, a leading solar developer in Taiwan originally set up by I Squared Capital, where he was responsible for legal risk assessment, mitigation and management strategies and solutions.

Raised and educated in Taiwan and the US, Taylor holds a Master’s degree in Law from Boston University and is admitted to practice law in both Taiwan and the US (New York State). He speaks native Mandarin Chinese, is fluent in English and conversational in Taiwanese Hokkien.
